Ince Managing Partner, Peter Howitt, has been at the forefront of the innovative and rapidly expanding areas of e-commerce and fintech law since 2000. Prior to founding Ramparts in 2012, a law firm specialising in e-commerce that was subsequently acquired by Ince, Peter worked in-house as Company Secretary and General Counsel at Transact (a European licensed e-money issuer): advising on legal, corporate, commercial, tax and regulatory issues. Peter has been deeply involved in the development of regulated e-commerce sectors, including online gaming, payments and blockchain in the UK, EU and Gibraltar. Peter is also the co-founder of the Gibraltar E-Money Association (GEMA), which focuses on identifying and promoting the common interests of locally authorised international payment service providers (the prepaid and e-payments sector). Peter continues to contribute to the development of e-commerce law through publications and advising clients on EU wide regulatory issues. He is also a specialist in cryptocurrencies and P2P lending and investment.
